Computer and Media Resources

Media Library

The HPEC provides a valuable library of learning resources (including the largest video collection of health-related titles within CUNY) to faculty and students at the Brookdale Campus. Students, assisted by HPEC staff, may view materials in screening rooms and multimedia study-carrels.
The HPEC is continually adding new titles to the media library, making the development of our video collection a dynamic process.
Prior to the start of a semester, we encourage faculty to provide us with a copy of their syllabi so that we may recommend a list of complementary videos from our collection.
Listed below are sample offerings from our extensive media collection organized by subject. For a complete reference list of individual titles offered exclusively through the HPEC, please visit the center in person. Users may also browse our online catalog from any computer connected to the Hunter College network.

HPEC Online Catalog

Searching the Catalog

At the login page, choose Guest Account and click the Login button. You do not need to enter a username or password.

Once logged in, click on the magnifying glass to search.

You can adjust how results are displayed by choosing Form, List, or Table under the View As2menu.

Enter a keyword in either the title or description fields and click Perform Find3 on the right-hand panel.

For best results, start with simple search terms using one word at a time, like "HIV" or "Nutrition," and repeat your search using related terms. Entering partial words may provide more results; For example, searching for "immun" might return results with the words immune, immunity, immunization, immunology, immunotherapy, and so on.

The HPEC online catalog is currently under maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
